I had never done a military homecoming before a couple of weeks ago, but when Lucia called me with her story, I knew I just had to be a part of it. Her husband, Aaron, was coming home from his second tour of duty and it had been months since they had seen each other outside of maybe a small handful of Skype times. The excitement in the air at the base as the time got closer for the soldiers to arrive was contagious and even I felt the butterflies of anticipation. It was such a special night to be a part of. Thank you Lucia and Aaron for letting me into your lives to capture such a special and intimate moment!
Also I just wanted to say a special thank you to all of our troops this New Year’s Eve. I hope that 2013 brings peace to all of the troubled places all of the world and a safe return home to all of our men and women overseas.
